The Study of Esthetics
Esthetics is the study of skin, analysis of its textures and treatments, anatomy of the face, hands, and cell structure of the skin.
Shelby School of Esthetics program will provide students with hands-on experience in the art of skin care, including electrical facials, basic facials, hair removal, and many custom facial principles. Students learn about general health and wellness, cosmetics, and basic dermatology, chemistry and anatomy.

Graduates of SSE should be prepared to take the North Carolina Cosmetology State Board Licensing Exam and upon passing be licensed and qualify for employment in beauty and cosmetic and skin care salons, as a platform artist, and in related businesses.

Course Description:
The esthetics curriculum provides an intense study of Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry, and Infection Control combined with the basics in practicing esthetics. In addition to state curriculum you will also become
- Chemical Peel curriculum certified through our partner PCA Skin
- Face Reality Acne Specialist curriculum certified after graduation.
- Social Media/Marketing Curriculum with Beauty As A Business
- ASCP insured in which you will be able to convert after graduation at a discounted rate.
- That’s right, you go through their specified trainings during your time at SSE and upon graduation and licensing testing, you will automatically become Certified and Official
Each Class is limited enrollment of 6 -12 students. This program is 600 hours. We offer theory instruction and hands on training to prepare you to be successful.

Course Description:
The Esthetics Instructor curriculum provides a course of study covering the skills needed to teach the theory and practice of esthetics as required by the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetology. Course work includes all phases of esthetics laboratory instruction and consist of 650 Hours. Student must be a current Licensed Esthetician. Graduates should be prepared to take the North Carolina Cosmetology State Board Esthetics Instructor Licensing Exam and upon passing be qualified for employment in a cosmetology or esthetics school.
Each Class is limited enrollment of 2 students with sessions for 6 and 1/2 months or 650 hours.

Course Description:
Advanced training for RNs, LPNs, LE who practice in the field of Esthetics. SSE enrolled students may continue in the Advanced Aesthetics & Laser Academy upon graduating. This 3 month training will focus on:
- Identifying and demonstrating Advance treatments (Medical Microdermabrasion and Advanced Chemical Peels
- Infection Control to include Blood-borne Pathogens
- Mannequins and Live Model practice and evaluations
- Charting Assessment
- Training Services to include: Oncology, Dermaplanning, Microshading, Lip Blushing, Microneedling, Laser/IPL/LED and RF deep dermal heating/tightening of the Face and Body
- Training Validation (Certifications)
This additional hands on training will prepare you for entry into the MedSpa sector! Training will be accompanied with theory lecture online, clinical treatments, a tool kit including (Dermaplane instruments, micro needling pen, micro shading pen and needed supplies), 3-Milady Aesthetician Series Textbooks and 1 Black Logo Uniforms!

The complete Cost of the Esthetics Program is $10,500.00 which includes Textbook, Uniform, Technology and Kit fees.
All students are required to pay the $250.00 Non Refundable Registration Fee
$1000.00 Book and kit fee will be invoiced due 30 days prior to class in order to receive your kit, textbooks, and uniforms First Day of Class.
Students are required to make a down payment of $1,500.00, which secures your seat in the class. 30 days prior to First Day of Class.

Payment Options (4.5% service fee added to all credit/debit/ACH Drafts)
- Option 1: Weekly Payments of $333.33
- Option2: Bi-Weekly Payments of $666.67
- Option 3: Monthly Payments of $1333.33
The complete Cost of the Esthetic Instructor Program is $5,799.00. $250.00 Non-Refundable Registration Fee, $1000.00 Textbook and Uniform fee.
All student instructors are required to make a down payment of $1,500.00, which is due one month before class begins.
The remaining Tuition will be financed of $3500.00 plus a 4.5% interest. Which is 6 installment payment drafts of $549.83
There is a $500.00 discount applied to tuitions paid upfront. We accept Cash, Money Order, and Most Major Credit Cards/Debit Cards
The complete Cost of the Advanced Aesthetics & Laser Academy is $6,500 a $1,000.00 Non-Refundable Registration Fee, $1,000.00 Textbook & Uniform fee, $2,000.00 Down Payment. The remaining $3,500.00 can be financed in one of three ways:
- Monthly at $1,166.67 (3 months)
- Bi-Weekly at $583.33
- Weekly at $291.67
